The Weavers Build Change in Belize
Dear Friends and Family,
Austin, Braiden, and myself have been given the opportunity and decided to embark on a journey this summer to Belize on a mission trip June 16. We are going with a group of young men and women, as well as adults, from St. Patrick’s Youth Ministry. During this week of prayer and work, we will be changing someone’s life forever. This group will be building a new home from the ground up for an individual or family in need.
Our family has been on several mission trips over the past 3 or 4 years with Hand in Hand ministries and St. Patrick’s Youth Ministry in the Appalachia area of Kentucky. It has truly been an eye-opening experience for all of us and a very rewarding one as well. We have been able to help families in need by giving them a hand up repairing their houses and just lending an ear. The stories we have heard about the resilience of these families is nothing but amazing. These families are just like you and I and the only thing separating them from us is just a different set of circumstances. We are truly blessed and it is easy for us to take for granted some of the basic necessities these folks struggle to meet day to day.
I can honestly say these experiences have been rewarding as it gives us all an opportunity to see God in each of us as we provide service to others. Our family has been blessed beyond what I could ever ask for and this is a way for us to give back to others. The three of us will be traveling to Belize in the summer to continue God’s work and service for others. The cost to help this family and others like them is not trivial and we are asking our friend and families to pray and think about making a tax-deductible donation in our name to Hand and Hand Ministries to help offset our cost.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and I look forward to serving God and sharing this journey with you.
