Rosie Bartley Builds Hope in Nicaragua

Dear Friends,

In February 2017, I will have the amazing opportunity to go on an Immersion trip to Nicaragua with Assumption High School and Hand In Hand Ministries. I will be traveling with ten other AHS seniors.

Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America, with a population of over 6 million people. However, it is also the second poorest country in Latin America, close behind Haiti. Nicaragua has struggled for decades to recover from a disastrous dictatorship that they endured in the 60s and 70s. On top of this, health conditions are terrible, and many citizens are victims of HIV, AIDS, and numerous other diseases.

During our trip, we will meet some of the 89 families in the Hand in Hand Ministries “Pathway to Change” program and visit some of them in their homes. We will also see and work with children in the schools were they attend. Our group will build a home in the neighborhoods of Managua, Nicaragua. We will also see some local sites and experience the beauty of Nicaragua as well.

Our group is excited to be working with Hand in Hand and I would love for you to learn about the wonderful work that they do: www.myhandinhand.org.

In order to make this trip a reality, I am going to need your help. Won’t you please join me in helping to serve the needs of the people in Nicaragua by making a contribution to my trip? I need to raise $1200 towards my trip. I will also be funding a portion of the trip through money I have earned working at The Forum and my parents will be paying a portion of the expense as well.

Any donation is tax deductible and you will receive a letter for tax purposes.

Any and all support is welcomed and appreciated more than words can explain.   Any contribution would mean the world to me and I will do everything in my power to make it count. Please also keep all you make this journey with me in your prayers, as well as our brothers and sisters in Nicaragua.

When I return, I will happily share some of my experiences with you!

Help spread the word!

Rosie Bartley
